BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 27 – A total of 114 participants from teaching staff and students who won various co-curricular competitions organized by the Department of Islamic Studies (JPI) that were conducted throughout the year were celebrated at the Prize and Souvenir Presentation Ceremony, today.
The ceremony which took place at Pengiran Anak Puteri Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School Hall was attended by the Acting Director of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU), Hajah Mariana binti Haji Jamil, as a special guest and then presented gifts to the recipients.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and was brightened up with the recitation of the holy verses of the Quran by one of the celebrated winners.
The ceremony ended with the recitation of the Prayer for the Protection of the Sultan and Brunei Darussalam by the Religious Education Officer at the Arabic School Division, JPI, Awang Mohammad Zamery bin Haji Nayan.
The event is an annual activity of the Co-curricular Division, JPI to show appreciation and as an incentive for teachers and students to continue to strive for success in the field of education, especially in the extra-curricular field.
The purpose of the event is to support Brunei Vision 2035, which is to produce Educated, Highly Skilled and Successful Citizens.
Among the co-curricular competitions that have been conducted by the Curriculum Division, JPI this year include the Let’s Tell a Story in Arabic (Individual) Competition; Al-Quran Interpretation Lecture Contest for Religious School Students; Common Verses Reading Contest for Special Needs Students (MBK) for Religious Schools; Rawi Reading Contest for Religious School Students and Al-Quran Reading Contest for Religious Officials and Teachers in conjunction with the 34th Teacher’s Day Celebration, Year 2024.
