Jessica Simpson has floored fans with her recent online escapades.

The I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker, 43, took to social media last night with some new scroll-stopping snaps.

Wearing a glorious crimson floor-length dress with a tight bodice, gothic lace sleeves and a neck collar, Jessica shimmied around her living room to Fever by Peggy Lee looking totally radiant.

Alongside the shots, Jessica teased some lyrics for her new music, as she wrote: ‘Souls Are Catchin’ Fire 🔥 new lyric tease 🔥’

Although she looked incredible, fans reacted with confusion at the series of snaps and video, as many said they didn’t recognise her in them.

‘I couldn’t even tell who this was…’ wrote Instagram user tinag923, while nordicmoxie said: ‘I thought this was Khloe Kardashian…’

‘Woe. She sure doesn’t look like the the Jessica I remember,’ addedbrenda_rebel_angel_.

Others complimented Jessica for the change, as jazzwithwings wrote: ‘I love how she can keep reinventing herself. It’s really hard being a woman, a mom, and a wife. Keep going, girlfriend.’

However, others were simply dumbstruck by the transformation, as donnabalkcum wrote: ‘Does not look like Jessica Simpson.’

Throughout the years, Jessica has also been frank with fans about her journey with alcohol addiction which saw her gain and lose ‘100lbs’ three times in a short amount of time.

In November, she shared a heartfelt post to mark being six years sober, attaching a picture of her in the throes of alcohol addiction.

She looked unrecognisable in the picture, which saw her stooped over a sofa wearing a pink tracksuit.

The Where You Are hitmaker first posted this same image two years previously, and alongside it spoke about the stigma surrounding alcohol addiction and told of how she’d ‘rediscovered her light’.

The US star wrote: ‘This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself.

‘I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.’

The mum-of-three added: ‘There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage.

Writing in her January 2020 memoir, Jessica revealed how she’d had two tummy tucks in the past, both in 2015.

‘I wanted to get rid of the stretch marks and loose skin left sagging from my back-to-back pregnancies,’ she explained.

‘I was so ashamed of my body at this point that I wouldn’t let Eric see me without a white T-shirt on.’

Jessica is currently working on a new album – her first in 10 years – set to be released this year, and previously said she would be heading on tour too.

In November, she told Footwear News: ‘Writing music has become a beautiful therapeutic thing for me that I didn’t know was so natural, but it’s because I haven’t done it in so long.

‘It’s just nice to know that I’m meeting myself back in this place, as a woman, and after going through everything that I’ve been through in my life. There’s a sense of freedom and empowerment.’

Jessica and former NFL player Eric Johnson married in 2014, and they share three children: Ace Knute, 10, Birdie Mae, 4, and Maxwell Drew, 11.
