Adoni Media's Leisa Goddard says Australia has to be “very mindful” of what is happening geopolitically. 

It comes as Prime Minister Scott Morrison deployed ADF and AFP to support the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force in controlling civil unrest among citizens. 

The Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Manasseh Sogavare, contacted Australia to ask for help after riots broke out. 

“We know the fact that we’ve been a target of China since we dared to start asking questions about where COVID came from,” Ms Goddard told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave. 

“So, we have to be very mindful of what is happening geopolitically in our region. 

“Yes, we are there to support the police, but I think it’s very important that they turn to Australia and Australia is there when they need us.”
