The man died in floodwaters.

A man has died after driving his ute into floodwaters in central Queensland.

The vehicle was spotted by a member of the public off Gregory Hwy in Hibernia just after 7am on Friday.

“The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle has been located deceased,” police said in a statement.

The forensic crash unit will investigate the circumstances of the death.
