ITV This Morning’s Phillip Schofield has issued a swipe at BBC Strictly Come Dancing ahead of ITV’s Dancing On Ice return.
ITV This Morning’s Schofe and Holly have hosted the show since it returned in 2018.
“I love Strictly,” he said in an interview ahead of the new series with Holly by his side.
He added: “But compared to the skills that are required for Dancing On Ice it’s a walk in the park.”
“[With Dancing On Ice] you have the possibility of real danger, real injury.”
“You have a rink that is full of essentially blades and we know how dangerous they can be and how deeply they can cut and how sharp they are,” he said.
“It’s one of those things but you don’t see that on Strictly,” he said.
“Dancing On Ice is really dangerous.”
The cast for the 2022 series include ITV Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, as well as Happy Mondays star Bez.
Paralympian Stef Reid, ITV 2 Love Island star Liberty Poole and professional rugby player Ben Foden are also in the line up, alongside Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Paul Gascoigne’s son, Regan Gascoigne.
Pop star Rachel Stevens has also been recruited, as well as a former Strictly pro Brendan Cole, and ITV presenter Ria Hebden too, with BMX Olympic silver medalist Kye Whyte completing the cast alongside The Vamps musician Connor Ball.
