Australian Council of Trade Unions Secretary Sally McManus has been urging the government to extend pandemic leave to all close contacts and mail out free rapid antigen tests to households.

The push comes as National Cabinet prepares to consider relaxing isolation rules in more industries after concerns of workforce shortages.
