Fresh from signing Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne from Everton, Villa are being linked with a £40m swoop for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma.
Villa’s business has been nothing short of sensational so far, underling the commitment of the owners and the pull of former England and Liverpool captain Gerrard.

Aston Villa’s move for Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen is in the “final stages” according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
And Roma boss Jose Mourinho has done Villa head coach Steven Gerrard a favour having sanctioned his departure, which has seen him agree to terminate Olsen’s loan move at Sheffield United.
That is set to pave the way for Olsen to join Villa with personal terms all agreed on a deal until the end of the season.
Steven Gerrard addresses futures of Aston Villa trio amid key transfer decisions
Steven Gerrard has addressed the future of three of his first-team group, and hinted at a potential move in this January transfer window for Egyptian winger Trezeguet.
The 27-year-old made his first appearance of the season in the 2-1 defeat at Brentford a fortnight ago after almost nine months out following knee ligament damage.
Trezeguet is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations and played 58 minutes in Egypt’s Group D defeat against Nigeria on Tuesday.
Gerrard, meanwhile, was asked about his future given the loan signing of Philippe Coutinho, while Jamaican winger Leon Bailey is set for a return in February.
