The UK entry for Eurovision this year, Sam Ryder has been warmly welcomed by the Eurovision crowd in Italy as well as for supporters back home in the UK. Commentator of the UK broadcasting of Eurovision, Graham Norton, highlighted how Sam Ryder has done a lot to change the negative perception that the UK has had in Eurovision in recent years.

Just seconds into Ryder performing on the Eurovision stage in Italy, Turin, @leemondo20 wrote ‘SAM RYDER FOR THE WIN! #UK #Eurovision’.

Commenting on Sam Ryder’s iconic look of rocking his long locks, @kieran_nee wrote ‘Sam Ryder is going to make an incredible Santa one day. #uk #Eurovision’. Highlighting the heartwarming effect Sam has had on many viewers throughout his time in the competition this year, @ebanks_brook9 penned ‘Tell you what, strange man-crush on Sam Ryder. What a bloke #Eurovision’.

@hilary___b also spoke to Sam’s infectious vibe when he typed ‘Sam Ryder really does have lovable golden retriever energy sigh’.

Asking the big question that really matters, @ATBlakeley daringly asked ‘22. The United Kingdom. Let’s go Sam Ryder of TikTok fame. Do us proud. Bookies like it but will Europe. That’s the big question. Definitely not a nil-point performance though! #Eurovision #Eurovision2022’.

As Sam’s performance went on, more tweets arose that shared the hopes they had for him to win the competition. @kimaya_naidoo wrote ‘Sam Ryder is so cute I hope he gets points #Eurovision’, whilst @emrobros wrote Sam Ryder seems like such a nice dude’.

Showing his welcoming personality, Ryder ended his performance by boldly shouting ‘shine brightly my friends- thank you all’. Graham Norton then shortly followed up by commentating ‘’A powerhouse performance’’.
