Ukraine have been crowned champions of this year’s Eurovision contest.
Many said that the nation’s presence at the competition despite the Russian invasion was already a win.
They had been overwhelming favourites to steal the show before even taking to the stage tonight.
It was uncertain if the act would even take it to Turin.
Their song of choice was called Stefania and was performed by Kalush Orchestra- a six-person hip-hop band that uses folk instruments.
The stage was lit up in the Ukrainian colours at the end of the performance, with roars coming from the live audience.
They received 439 votes from the public.
Many Irish viewers said that they voted for Ukraine despite not usually getting involved in the process.
Ukraine’s Eurovision commentator was joining from a bomb shelter tonight.
