BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 28 – A donation of $38,050.00 from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has been given to 38 families involved in fire, collapsed houses and strong wind disasters in several villages across the country.
The donation presentation ceremony was held this morning at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Level 4, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex and was officiated by the guest of honor of the ceremony, namely the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad who is also Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Committee to Examine the Grants of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation.
The ceremony began with the presentation of donations to the victims of the fire disaster, Awang Zulshahri bin Haji Abdullah from Kampong Lambak ‘A’ and followed by the victims of the house collapse disaster, Awang Mohammad @ Sulaiman bin Haji Ibrahim from Kampong Tamoi Ujong and also to Awang Haji Saili @ Suhaili bin Bujang , Kampong Setia ‘B’.
Next, donations were presented to 35 victims of the strong wind disaster which was also completed by the guest of honor.
Also present was the Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development, Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak and also as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
The aid was delivered to ease the burden of the victims involved in continuing their daily lives and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation from time to time provides care for the less fortunate such as those involved in calamities such as house fires, house collapses and strong wind disasters.
The establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is as a container for charity or charitable donations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of His Majesty’s relatives as a sign of His Majesty’s care and love to His Majesty’s people in addition to becoming a prosperous and prosperous society in Brunei Darussalam.
