STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Strongsville Community Theatre (SCT) is thrilled to announce its fourth annual scholarship benefit show, “A Tribute to Cole Porter.”

It is set for Oct. 25 and 26 in the Strongsville Senior Center event room.

This year’s show will feature Jim’s Little Big Band, alongside eight SCT singers, offering a memorable program of Cole Porter’s timeless music.

If you haven’t been to one of SCT’s “Tribute” shows, you are in for a delightful surprise. The singers and musicians are all seasoned professionals who deliver the best show in town — plus an amazing value.

The show will feature two evenings of entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, all to support SCT’s scholarship fund.

Tickets are priced at $40 per person, with all proceeds benefiting high school seniors pursuing performing arts studies at the university level.

Over the years, SCT has awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships, thanks to the generous support of the community.

SCT extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the scholarship program over the years and looks forward to another memorable evening of entertainment for a great cause.

Reservations are limited, so attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets early. Tickets can be reserved online at www.strongsvillecommunitytheatre.com or by calling 440-879-8817.

All purchased tickets will be available for pickup at the door on the evening of the event.

Five-star rating: Ohio recently released its State Report Card results for school districts, and Strongsville City Schools has received a 5-star overall rating for the second straight year.

Five stars represent that the school significantly exceeds state standards.

Strongsville City Schools is one of only 68 Ohio school districts — and one of just 11 in Cuyahoga County — to receive the highest rating possible.

The State Report Card measures six different components through a rating system of 1 to 5 stars. Components include Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation, Early Literacy and College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness.

“To earn a 5-star overall rating on the State Report Card for a second straight year is a testament to our entire school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Cameron Ryba.

“While there are many ways to measure the success of a school district, this rating and our success on all of the report card components is a reflection of the extraordinary efforts, passion and dedication of our teachers, support staff, administrators and Board of Education.”

A detailed presentation of Strongsville City Schools’ State Report Card results will be delivered at the Oct. 9 Board of Education meeting, at 7 p.m. in the school district’s administrative offices, 18199 Cook Ave.

It also will be streamed live at www.scsmustangs.org/scstv.
