BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 26 – The Brunei and Muara District Department has issued two compounds against Raj Guru Sdn. Bhd in the amount of $2,000 and over Mahmoon Entreprise Sdn Bhd in the amount of $500 for having committed an offense under Chapter 12 (1) of the Rampaian Offenses Act (Amendment 2021).
The compound fines issued are the result of the operations of the Licensing and Enforcement Division, Brunei and Muara District Department around the Pengkalan Batu Subdistrict area.
In this regard, company owners/managers and individuals are reminded not to take lightly the offenses that have been prosecuted and are instructed to pay compound fines immediately and clean up the area that has been turned into an illegal dumping ground.
If it fails, the case will be brought to court under the Violent Offenses Act (Amendment 2021), which means that if convicted, it can bring a penalty not exceeding $3,000 for an individual, while for a Company not exceeding $30,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 12 months or both .
The Department would also like to request the cooperation of the public to channel any information about illegal dumping by including the address of the location along with photos via whatsapp message 8321581.
