ROME, OCT 29 – Veteran striker Mario Balotelli has returned to Italy by joining Genoa on a short-term deal.
Balotelli’s participation was confirmed by the Serie A club yesterday.
Balotelli who started his career at Inter Milan’s youth academy has played for several famous clubs, including Manchester City, AC Milan and Liverpool with his last experience in Serie A in the 2019-2020 season with Brescia.
Called Super MarioBalotelli has not been tied to any club since his contract with Turkish Super League side Adana Demirspor expired this summer.
This allows the 34-year-old free agent to sign a contract with Genoa at any time during the season.
Balotelli has signed a contract until the end of the season and will wear his favorite number 45 jersey.
Genoa have struggled with injury problems this season and currently sit 18th after nine games. – Named
