Man critically injured after being struck by car on Kellogg near airport

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A man was critically injured after being struck by a car in west Wichita on Wednesday.

It happened in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg near Eisenhower Airport Parkway around 3:15 a.m. The eastbound lanes of Kellogg were closed for a few hours and reopened around 6:20 a.m.

“Right now, we believe our victim that was struck was involved in another accident that occurred at Kellogg and Eisenhower, just south of that intersection, and may have been trying to flag down motorists for assistance,” Sgt. John Bogle, Wichita Police Department, said.

Authorities say the person driving the car that hit the man stayed on the scene.

Around 6 a.m., another crash was reported at Kellogg and Tyler that left a person seriously injured.
