The second team of the relief mission left for Manila

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 30 – The Ministry of Defense has sent a second team for the Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Mission to Manila, Republic of the Philippines today.

The departure ceremony for the second team of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (RBDF) took place at the Air Movement Center, Rimba Air Force Base.

Present at the ceremony was the ABDB Commander, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

Also present were members of the ABDB Executive Committee, Charge d’affaires from the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam, Bernadette A. Mendoza, Defense Attaché, Armed Forces of the Republic of the Philippines, senior officers of the Ministry of Defense and family members of the forces participating in the mission.

The second team consisting of 20 members led by Major (U) Abdul Haqim bin Haji Yahya took off on two Blackhawk S70i helicopters of the Royal Brunei Air Force.

The main assignment for this second team is as a continuation of Operation Badai Taduh to ensure the smooth and effective transport of Air Logistics Aid, especially by expanding the delivery of aid provided by the Philippine government to remote areas that are difficult to access around the Bicol Region.
