Whether I’m for or against the proposed new Browns stadium in Brook Park, I’m still surprised that many feel that the Browns would be vacating Cleveland. They would still be playing in an inner-ring suburb. A former Cleveland Hopkins airport expansion plan involved a land swap with Brook Park.
Many NFL teams do not play in the cities for which they are named, including the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. In fact, the New York Giants and New York Jets play in an entirely different state!
Whether or not this relocation to Brook Park goes through, the team will still be our Cleveland Browns and, hopefully, one day we will cheer them to a Super Bowl.
