WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One person is dead, and another is injured after a shooting in north Wichita Wednesday night.
According to the Wichita Police Department, just after 11 p.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of N. Mascot for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police talked to a man who stated he was inside the home with a woman when shots were fired into the house from outside.
“The male was awake, talking to us, responsive, so he’s gone to a local hospital for treatment on that. The female received very critical injuries, and she has also been removed from the scene by EMS for treatment of those very critical injuries that she received,” said Sgt. JD Summerer, WPD.
A public information officer with the WPD told KSN that one person died.
“We are working on leads at this time to determine what’s gone on here and who’s responsible,” said Summerer.
