CAIRO, 7 NOV – The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an ‘outside the box idea’ offering companies access to both the Chinese market and other participating countries, a business leader said.
News agency Xinhua reported the Head of the Egyptian Association of Businessmen, Mohamed Youssef said ‘the initiative is unique and has started to achieve strong results over the past six years.’
Data shows that in 2022, the fifth CIIE saw initial agreements worth US$73.5 billion for the purchase of goods and services for a year, which, according to Youssef, was reached while ‘the world is recovering from the economic crisis caused by COVID-19.’
According to Youssef, despite the pandemic and regional and international tensions, China’s success in concluding major business deals during CIIE 2022 is a ‘very great achievement.’
He said China, the world’s second largest economy, plays an important role in balancing global economic power. Youssef emphasized that through CIIE and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China aims to create win-win partnerships with developing countries and help them benefit
their resources in the best possible way to achieve development and growth.
The head of the Egyptian business community emphasized that African countries, which are rich in human and natural resources, can benefit from strong partnerships with countries that have economic strength and are ready to drive development in this society. – Named
