He said the event attracted thousands of tourists from home and abroad and became an important platform to showcase the unique cultural heritage of the Bajau Laut community, including preserving the traditional Lepa-lepa boat-making skills passed down from generation to generation.
“We hope that this event will be a meaningful starting point for the development of Sabah’s tourism industry, making Semporna not only known for the beauty of its tropical islands and stunning sea world, but also as a vibrant and vibrant cultural center,” he added.
