Model cars, trucks stolen from Middleburg Heights hobby shop in break-in

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – Four model vehicles were stolen at about 10:30 p.m. Nov. 8 from BAD L’s Hobby, 13397 Smith Road, in a break-in.

A store employee was in the business when the break-in occurred. The store was closed at the time. The worker noticed a dark-colored sedan in the parking lot.

The worker saw a person step out of the car, walk to the locked front door of the hobby shop and pull the door handle.

Then the worker heard glass breaking in the front of the store. He ran outside and saw the dark-colored sedan speeding out of the parking lot. The worker called police.

When police arrived, they saw that the store’s front door glass had been shattered. A brick was on the floor inside the store, near the entrance. Police searched the building but found no one.

Missing inside the store were two electric model cars and two electric model trucks. The total value of the stolen items was $1,574.
