The museum uses AI to display the story of Hang Tuah

MELAKA – The Hang Tuah Museum located at the Hang Tuah Centre, Duyong here, is making history as the first museum in Malaysia to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to display the story of Admiral Hang Tuah.

Curator of the Melaka Museum Corporation (Perzim), Norzaifirah Zaini said the use of AI in the interactive display image was developed by a local consultant and aimed to attract visitors after the Hang Tuah Museum reopened on October 1.

He said the new approach was done as part of an effort to add value to the state’s tourism product, thereby raising the standard of the museum, which was previously closed for a year for the work.

“Through these improvements, more use of AI in interactive display images is displayed to visitors to tell stories or history related to Hang Tuah.

“This approach gives visitors a more interesting experience to learn more about Hang Tuah thus avoiding visitors getting bored by just reading the information displayed in writing,” he told Named.

Commenting further, he said the use of hologram technology that displays the fight between Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat is also available in the museum while the method virtual tour used to describe Hang Tuah’s trading activities around the world.

Even more interesting, he said, visitors also had the opportunity to witness a theater related to Hang Tuah’s voyage as Admiral of Melaka in a mini theater that was displayed on a video slide for about three minutes.

Norzaifirah said that in addition to the works to raise the level of the museum, which is also known as Rumah Hang Tuah, it also involved four other houses of friends of the hero, namely Rumah Hang Jebat, Rumah Hang Kasturi, Rumah Hang Lekir and Rumah Hang Lekiu.

According to him, the area around the Hang Tuah Center has also been upgraded, especially involving landscape aspects, including the development of several giant monuments related to Malacca such as Malacca house steps, keris and cradles.

Hang Tuah Museum is open every day except Monday which is from 9 am to 5 pm and the entrance ticket is as much as RM10 for adults and RM5 for children aged five to 12 years.

Previously, the media reported that the Hang Tuah Centre, including the Hang Tuah Museum, was closed for a year for upgrading works involving an allocation of more than RM3.81 million channeled by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

In addition, he said martial arts associations that are interested in holding training at night in the court at the Hang Tuah Center are also welcome.

“At Hang Tuah Centre, we also provide an auditorium for seminar, workshop or briefing activities, in addition to offering site rentals for organizing wedding ceremonies,” he added. – Named
