RANAU, NOV 15 – An elderly woman was found dead after her home was destroyed in a fire involving two houses in Kampung Muhibbah here early this morning.
Head of Ranau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Ridwan Mohd Taib said in the incident at about 1:20 am, Wong Ling Ying, 74, was found in his house which was 99 percent burnt while the second house was 50 percent burnt.
“The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action,” he said when contacted today.
Earlier, Ridwan said fire engines from BBP Ranau rushed to the scene after receiving a report about the incident.
“Two vehicles were also burnt, namely a four-wheel drive that was 100 percent destroyed while a car burned four percent,” he said.
He said the fire was brought under control at 2:28 am, and the operation ended at 4:14 am. – Named
