Another way to get a ticket passing a school bus: Pepper Pike Police Blotter

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio

School bus complaint: Lander Road

After a caller reported a car passing his daughter’s school bus around 3 p.m. Nov. 11, police checked the registration, contacted the driver and reviewed the footage.

It turned out the Orange City School District bus only had its yellow caution lights flashing instead of its red flashers with the moveable stop sign arm.

But the Cleveland Heights man, 61, was still cited for passing the bus on a double yellow line in the two-lane roadway.

Unwanted guest: Kersdale Road

A resident reported that her ex-boyfriend came to her house on the afternoon of Nov. 11 when he was no longer welcome there.

Police also noted that he did not live there prior to their breakup. Officers contacted the Shaker Heights man, 45, and advised him that if he returned to her home, he could be arrested for criminal trespassing.

General assist (juvenile) Edgewood Drive

A resident reported that a hearing-impaired boy, 10, ran into their house around 8 p.m.  Nov. 9, apparently through an open door.

Police arrived and helped to reunite the child with his family without further incident.
