‘No regrets about entering the ring last time’ – Tyson

WASHINGTON, NOV 17 – Former champions heavyweight world Mike Tyson said yesterday he had no regrets about losing to Jake Paul in their heavyweight boxing match after stepping into the ring ‘for the last time.’

The 58-year-old legend dropped a unanimous decision Friday to 27-year-old YouTube fighter Paul at AT&T Stadium, watched by 72,300 fans and another 60 million households worldwide, according to Netflix.

“It’s one of those situations where you lose but still win,” Tyson posted yesterday on X. “I’m thankful for last night. No regrets to enter the ring for the last time.”

Tyson, who said he nearly died last June due to health issues, left open the question of whether to fight again when commenting shortly after the loss.

He said it was a victory to fight given his health issues that forced the fight to be postponed since July when he vomited blood on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May.

“I almost died in June,” Tyson said. “Experienced 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and lost 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight for my health.

“To have my kids watch me fight and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium was a very valuable experience.”

At the time, Tyson dismissed his health problems as “spreading ulcers” and was positive about fighting Paul at one stage.

Paul also broadcasts on X fueling the viewing and also the next competition.

“Break the record. Love you, Mike,” Paul posted on X. “Numbers never lie. Announcement coming soon…”
