The Browns’ resurgence was short lived as they were humbled by the Los Angeles Chargers two weeks ago. The bye week provided a chance to look in the mirror of a season that fell wildly short of expectations. One that was over before it began.

Cleveland could have a favorable matchup against the Saints, especially in the defensive department. The Browns tabbed six sacks on Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in the loss.

Cleveland’s defense allows 23.7 points per game, which ranks 21st in the league. They also tout a top-10 pass rush.

Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett has recorded 21 solo tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.

Safety Grant Delpit touts 36 solo tackles while cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. has 34 solo tackles, one forced fumble and five pass deflections.

The Browns offense continues to work its way out of the cellar. They are throwing for 183 yards per game and rushing for 91 yards per contest, both at the bottom of the league. The Browns are the fourth-worst in scoring offense, averaging 16.4 points per game.

Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown for 652 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. the former New Orleans quarterback is completing 59.6% of his passes. Winston was the Saints’ backup from 2020-23.

Receiver Jerry Jeudy has tallied 33 receptions for 418 yards and one touchdown. Jeudy is averaging 12.7 yards per reception and 46.4 yards per game. He has tallied 70 or more receiving yards in both Winston’s starts.

Cedric Tillman also continues his maturation, tallying 24 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 11 yards per reception and 37.7 yards per game. He has 75 yards or more in the last three games.

Tight end David Njoku has hauled in 30 receptions for 255 yards and two touchdowns.

Jerome Ford is trying to revitalize the run game, tallying 52 carries for 269 yards and one touchdown. Nick Chubb has 42 carries for 113 yards and one touchdown as he continues to ease his way back to full strength.

The Saints began the post-Dennis Allen era with a victory for interim coach Darren Rizzi. The classic “win one for the interim” performance came through once again. New Orleans has come crashing back down to earth with seven losses in their last eight games, but last Sunday was a welcomed sight.

New Orleans averages 22.7 points per game, which ranks 16th in the NFL. They surrender 24.6 points which ranks 23rd.

Their victory over Atlanta was more the uncharacteristic struggle of Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo, who missed three field goals. Atlanta also outgained the Saints by 100 yards.

New Orleans will need to protect Derek Carr, who has tallied 1,494 yards and 11 touchdowns with four interceptions. He is completing 67.4% of his passes.

Tight end Foster Moreau has recorded 12 receptions for 167 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 13.9 yards per reception. Tight end Taysom Hill is the dual package wildcard. He has 10 receptions for 100 yards, averaging 10 yards per reception.

Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is finding chemistry with Carr. He has tallied four receptions for 114 yards and two touchdowns since coming over to New Orleans.

Star running back Alvin Kamara has 167 carries for 715 yards and six touchdowns. He also touts 421 receiving yards and a score through the air. Kamara has tallied five or more receptions in seven straight games.

The Saints defense is allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game and the sixth-most rushing yards (141) per contest. New Orleans is dead last in yards per carry allowed (5.1). They have given up 70 or more yards to rushers in six of the past eight games.

Cornerback Alontae Taylor has notched 42 solo tackles with two forced fumbles and 10 pass deflections. The Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu, has accumulated 30 solo tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble with six pass deflections.

Linebacker Demario Davis has racked up 32 solo tackles and one sack.
