GLEN ELDER, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Game Wardens are looking for whoever shot a deer and left it for dead inside a state park.
A buck was found shot to death by the Glen Elder Dam in the Glen Elder Wildlife Area on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 10. While hunting is legal in the wildlife area with a proper license and permit, hunters are required to check in and check out through an online system.
State law also mandates that hunters must attempt to recover any wounded or killed game and keep the carcass until it is eaten, delivered to a taxidermist, processed, given away, or transported to their home.
Anyone with information about who may have shot the deer is asked to call the local Game Warden at 785-243-0553.
