Thailand’s rice production increased 20 percent in the first 10 months

BANGKOK, NOV 18 – Thailand’s rice production increased by 20 percent compared to last year to 8.37 million tons in the first 10 months of this year, reports Xinhuaciting today’s official data.

The Southeast Asian country is expected to export more than nine million tons of rice in 2024, with a value of more than US$6.4 billion, according to the Ministry of Trade.

The upward trend was driven by continued orders, supported by an increase in high-quality rice yields for the season, following sufficient water supply for planting as well as high demand for Thai jasmine rice in key markets, the ministry said in a statement. – Named
