GREEN, Ohio – Allegiant Air is adding two new routes to popular Florida destinations from the Akron-Canton Airport, both starting in May.
New flights to Jacksonville, Florida, will launch May 23 and will run Fridays and Mondays through early September.
New flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, will start May 24 and run Saturdays only through early September.
One-way fares start at $59.
The Akron-Canton additions were part of a 44-route, nationwide expansion for Las Vegas-based Allegiant, the nation’s ninth largest carrier.
The carrier is a low-cost airline, with low fares and fees for amenities including advanced seat assignments and baggage. Allegiant typically flies less than daily routes to leisure-focused destinations.
Currently, Allegiant flies to eight destinations from Akron-Canton, including five cities in Florida, plus Nashville, Myrtle Beach and Savannah.
