Emergency vehicles are disrupted due to lack of fuel

GAZA, NOV 20 – The Gaza Civil Defense announced yesterday that most of its emergency vehicles had to stop operations due to lack of fuel, raising concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the Agency reported. Anatolia (AA).

“We are declaring the cessation of operations for most civil defense vehicles in the Gaza Strip due to insufficient fuel. Currently, we are operating with only one water tanker and one rescue vehicle,” the agency said in a statement.

The Gaza Civil Defense emphasized that since mid-November, emergency crews have not been able to answer many of the residents’ calls or reach the site of the Israeli attack.

“This signals an impending humanitarian catastrophe, adding to the suffering of our people in Gaza as Israel’s aggression continues,” the team said.

The Civil Defense also warned that the fuel shortage crisis, coupled with the forced displacement of thousands of residents from northern Gaza, is severely affecting their ability to deal with the growing humanitarian needs across the region.

Since October 5, Israel has launched ground attacks in northern Gaza under the pretext of preventing the Hamas militant group from regrouping.

The Palestinians, however, accuse Israel of trying to occupy the area and evict its residents by force.
