WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—Troy Houtman, the former director of Wichita Park and Recreation, has a new job as the city administrator of the City of Lyons.
He worked for Wichita for a decade until September, when city leaders learned he did not increase the rent for a disc golf company at Clapp Park as called for in a contract.
“My desire to move to a smaller community will allow me to use all my skills and abilities to ensure Lyons continues to thrive in a time of growth. I have been to Lyons many times and envision bringing new ideas while preserving the uniqueness of Lyons. Lyons has a strong foundation as a community and I want to be part of its future successes,” said Houtman in a news release.
Houtman will succeed Ed Truelove and will be appointed on Nov. 19.
