“This collision could have been tragic,” says a gendarme from the Senlis company. This Thursday morning, around 8:10 a.m., a car and a school bus collided head-on, avenue de Creilin Senlis. The accident was impressive and fortunately only caused minor injuries.
At this stage, the exact circumstances are still to be determined by investigators. “What we can say for the moment is that there was neither snow nor ice, so the weather conditions are not responsible,” indicates a gendarme. Alcohol tests of the bus driver and conductor came back negative. »
The teenagers unhurt but shocked
In the bus, there were thirty-four students, aged 15 to 17, from Amyot-d’Inville vocational high school from Senlis, with two guides and the driver. Everyone was going to Creil when the collision occurred with a car traveling in the other direction. As they were supposed to pass each other, the two vehicles collided head-on, pushing the bus into a ditch.
When help arrived, the firefighters, seeing the state of the car, were preparing to transfer the victim to Beaujon hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine). “The driver was extricated. There were fears for his state of health, but in the end, once extricated from his vehicle, he only had superficial cuts. He was therefore taken to the Creil hospital center for a routine examination,” specifies a senior officer from the Senlis gendarmerie company.
No teenagers were injured. Six were shocked but did not require transport to a hospital. A replacement bus quickly arrived on site to keep them warm and evacuate them.
