WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Christmas is kicking off tonight in Derby and downtown Wichita.
In Derby, the 18th Annual City Tree Lighting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave. There will be photos with Santa, holiday music, military Christmas card signings, food trucks, hot cocoa and cookies. Derby Operation Holiday will accept nonperishable food, toiletries, and new toys in The Venue. Donations go to families in the Derby Public School District.
In Wichita, Occidental Management will host its 3rd Annual Merry & Bright Union Station Lighting Event & Toy Drive from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 701 E. Douglas. The toy drive benefits the Wichita Children’s Home. Wichita Mayor Lily Wu will flip the switch to light up the Union Station building. The event will feature photos with Santa, carriage rides, musical performances, hot cocoa and cookies.
