CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns forced a takeaway for the second game in a row, and they did it against a team that rarely gives the football away.
Myles Garrett strip-sacked Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson late in the second quarter on Thursday night, and linebacker Winston Reid recovered the fumble deep in Steelers territory.
Although this is also the fourth game in a row that the Steelers have turned the football over, Pittsburgh came into the game tied for fourth in the NFL in fewest turnovers (8).
It was also Garrett’s second sack of the game after bringing Wilson down on a third down in the first quarter. This is Garrett’s third game this season with at least two sacks.
The Browns turned the fumble into a 34-yard field goal from Dustin Hopkins to give them a 10-3 lead with 40 seconds remaining in the half.
