Sanwo-Olu swears in eight new perm secs, tutors-general

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday inaugurated eight newly appointed  Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General in the State Public Service.

The governor urged the new appointees to lead with integrity and collaborate effectively to ensure the state remains a model of development, innovation and inclusivity.

This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, and made available to PUNCH Online on Friday.

 Sanwo-Olu assured the new Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General that his administration will remain committed to providing the resources, support and enabling environment needed to succeed in their new roles.

The new Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General who have been deployed to different ministries with immediate effect include Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila (Teaching Service Commission); Mrs Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite (Audit Service Commission); and Mrs Ojo Modupe (Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget).

Others are Mr Hameed Oyenuga (Ministry of Justice and Solicitor-General), Dr Adetola John (Office of the State Auditor-General); Mr Kadri Oluwasanu (Office of Chief of Staff); Mrs Mojisola Yusuf (Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, TGPS Education District VI), and Mr Hassan Abiodun (TGPS District V).

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Lagos House, Ikeja, the state capital, the governor said, “Today’s event underscores our unwavering commitment to strengthening the machinery of governance and ensuring that the values of excellence, accountability and service delivery remain at the heart of our administration.

“The positions you are stepping into today represent the pinnacle of the civil service hierarchy in Lagos State. They come with immense responsibilities to lead, innovate, and inspire the teams under your purview to achieve the vision of a Greater Lagos.

“I assure you that this administration remains committed to providing the resources, support, and enabling environment you need to succeed in your new roles. I am certain that together we will continue to build on our achievements and chart a future that ensures Lagos State remains a model of development, innovation, and inclusivity.

“As you take on this mantle of leadership, remember that your legacy will be defined not just by the policies you implement but by the lives you transform. The people of Lagos are counting on your wisdom, dedication, and unwavering resolve to make their dreams of a Greater Lagos a reality. Step forward boldly, lead with vision, and let your service stand as a testament to excellence in governance.”

Speaking earlier, the State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, said their appointments are in line with the need to reinvigorate the state’s policy implementation apparatus and the continuous identification and elevation of deserving public servants into positions of higher responsibilities.
