MEXICO CITY, NOV 22 – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum yesterday expressed readiness for the possible mass deportation of immigrants by the United States (US), which according to US President-elect Donald Trump will happen as soon as he takes office, reported Xinhua.
“If there is a deportation, we will accept Mexicans, and we already have a plan for that,” Sheinbaum said in a press conference.
He also expressed his disapproval of the act of treating immigrants like criminals, insisting that ‘justice institutions exist around the world’ to protect human rights.
Sheinbaum said the government is strengthening the network of Mexican consulates in the US to protect migrants at risk of deportation. – Named
