Reckon drops new EP, ‘No Luck, Just God’

A United States of America-based afrobeats singer, Otu Okon Ukam, popularly known as Reckon, has released his EP, tilted, “No Luck, Just God”.

Reckon stated that No Luck, Just God is a vibrant testament to faith, resilience, and celebration. Each track displays his lyrical depth and powerful vocals, weaving together messages of love, perseverance, and joy.

Speaking about his latest EP he said, “No Luck, Just God is more than an EP; it’s a celebration of human connection, faith, and cultural roots.”

Reckon breathes life into his heritage, encouraging his audience to appreciate the wonders of life’s path. Through powerful messages such as “Rain don stop, clouds don clear, sunshine returns,” his EP serves as a beacon of hope during difficult times, reminding us that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

In the title track, “No Luck, Just God,” Reckon delivers a profound message of gratitude and strength, emphasizing that true success comes from a higher source with lines like, “No luck, just God, that’s how I win.”

“Good On You” follows, celebrating happiness and the beauty of a joyful spirit with an uplifting chorus: “Happiness looks good on you, Joy fits you like the morning dew.”

“Take Care” is a reminder of the value of self-care, delivering a poignant line: “When you take care of your body, your body takes care of you.” In “Adimpiano,” Reckon speaks to ambition and the desire for greatness, singing, “Adimpiano, take me far away from where I dey, Before my talent waste, It’s a track that resonates with anyone pursuing dreams against the odds,” he said.

“One And Only” is a heartfelt ode to devotion, with Reckon tenderly declaring, “Don’t ever leave me lonely, Cause you’re my one and only.”

In “No Blame Me,” he addresses life’s struggles with authenticity: “Country hard, everybody dey para, No blame me if I no reply you.”

The lively “Bills On Me” is an invitation to join the fun, boasting, “I wanna take you and your friends out, I go pay for the food and drinks.”

The EP closes with “Dine And Wine,” a romantic track where Reckon promises, “I will set a table for you and I tonight, We can dine and wine.”

In January 14, 2024, the singer told Sunday Scoop that that he is not after fame but he is out to pass a message through his music and that is what differentiates him from the crowd in the industry.
