Singer and music maestro, Datuk M Nasir was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Performance at the 26th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Tanjung Malim, Perak yesterday.
The award was presented by the Queen of Perak who is also the UPSI Chancellor, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Commenting on the award, M Nasir or Mohd Nasir Mohamed, 67, described the recognition as the highlight of his artistic career over the past 45 years.
“For me this honor is a great award and they (UPSI) are among the parties that closely follow the development of my art.
“This honor also proves that UPSI is one of the parties that support and elevate the art field to the highest level,” he said.
Sharing more about his artistic journey, M Nasir said that he will produce a film soon. – Agency
