COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football picked up its second win this year against a top-five opponent on Saturday, taking down Indiana 38-15.
In the victory, the Buckeyes got 201 passing yards from quarterback Will Howard to accompany another 115 rushing yards.
The win improved Ohio State’s record to 10-1 ahead of a matchup with Michigan next week.
Here’s what coach Ryan Day said after the victory against the Hoosiers.
What Ryan Day said after Ohio State beat Indiana
- Day praised the crowd for affecting Indiana’s cadence. He felt Caleb Downs’ punt return was among the loudest moments he’s experienced at Ohio Stadium.
- Day on special teams: “Those are big plays. In matchup games, those are the things we’ve got to have.”
- Day on OSU’s late touchdown: “We felt like we wanted to put an exclamation point on the win.”
- Day feels the linebackers were timing up the blitzes well.
- Day said the moment the clock hit triple zeroes, the focus shifted to Michigan. However, he feels his team should adequately celebrate the top-five win.
- Day on Howard: “Buckeye nation is now seeing, after 11 games, this guy is a winner. He’s tough. He care about his teammates. He’s a leader … He’s the heart and soul of our team.”
- Day on the offensive line: “I felt like guys were getting after it.”
