BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 24 – The highest body for education of the Police Wives and Family Welfare Association (PEKERTI) held a Mental Health Lecture at the Multipurpose Hall of the Police Training Center, Gadong Headquarters, recently.
A talk titled Mental Health Awareness was delivered by Noresamsiah binti Haji Md Hussin (Mcouns Counseling – Interpersonal Dialogue).
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony was the Chairman of PEKERTI, Datin Sabrina Aziemah binti Abdullah Chong and also present was the Chairman of the Supreme Body of PEKERTI Sports, Nur Akmalia binti Lt. Col (B) Awang Iskandar and Chairman of the Supreme Body of PEKERTI Education, Her Majesty Hajah Annisah binti Haji Bahar.
Among other things, the aim of the talk is to increase awareness and understanding of mental health issues among the community as well as to prioritize the mental health of individuals so that they can get help when needed.
In addition, the talk is expected to provide information about mental health conditions to challenge myths and misconceptions and create a more understanding environment as well as to emphasize self-care or self care and community support in dealing with mental problems.
