Actor Arje Lee expressed his happiness when he was accepted to continue his studies to the Doctor of Philosophy level in the field of Drama and Theater at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak.
Arja or Azharudin Ramli, 41, said he had indeed kept his dream of becoming a doctor of philosophy since successfully completing his master’s degree in the same field.
“Actually, I promised myself to go on to higher studies, which is a doctor of philosophy.
“I really want to pursue the title of Dr Arja, because for me the art of performing culture and heritage in Malaysia is my world.
“I also want to contribute what I have to the development of art and culture. Yesterday (Saturday) was the first day I reported myself and met my supervisor.
“I think this is a good thing that can be shared with the public,” he said when contacted mStar.
Sharing further, Arja said he would commute from Kota Bharu, Kelantan to Kuala Lumpur every month to carry out his duties as a student.
Arja said he was not burdened by the matter as he had some other things to do in the capital.
“I plan once a month I will meet my supervisor about 36 times a year.
“But that’s just a plan because this study can also be done online,” he said.
In the meantime, Arja said he is ready to face various challenges in pursuit of his dreams and try to complete his studies within three years.
He said, he doesn’t think too much about the difficulties he will go through but instead wants to enjoy the process of achieving success.
He even got words of encouragement from fellow artists who were happy to see his success.
“I took this course full time but I focused on my career and didn’t want to think about the process.
“For me it’s not difficult because I’m very ready to start this journey, especially the research done is also very close to me and makes it easier,” he said.
For the record, Arja is a lecturer at Universiti Kelantan Malaysia (UMK) since 2022. – Agency
