WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – TV, radio, and print media outlets were brought together by the Wichita Journalism Collaborative on Saturday.
They met at Oakland Activity in south Wichita to expose the community to the organizations that produce its news.
People were encouraged to interact with the journalists, discuss how they consume news, discover resources, and share ideas for future stories.
“I think it’s going great. We’re meeting people, talking with them, telling them about our different organizations. We have TV, radio, the library, WSU, so we’re just really giving some opportunities to tell them who we are, what we do and hope that they start engaging with us,” said Kathy Lefler, the coordinator of the Wichita Journalism Collaborative.
“Each of us brings a unique perspective,” said Claudia Amaro, the editor and chief of Planeta Venus, a bilingual news outlet. “It’s very diverse. We all learn from each other.”
KSNW is a proud member of the Wichita Journalism Collaborative.
