BINTULU, NOV 24 – A teenager who went missing after being swept away by the current at the beach of Batu Mandi fishing village near here yesterday afternoon was found drowned today.
Bintulu District Police Chief, Superintendent, Nixon Joshua Ali said the body of Valentino Austin Richie, 18, was found by search and rescue (SAR) teams approximately one nautical mile from the coast at 9:18 this morning.
“The victim’s body was taken to the Bintulu Hospital Forensic Department and the police classified the case as sudden death,” he said in a statement.
He said the victim was a local citizen who lived not far from the scene of the incident. – Named
