Special training for the knowledge level of 39 tourist guides

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 25 – A total of 39 tour guides registered and licensed under the Tourism Development Department participated in a training session that took place at the Tasek Lama Resort from November 18 to November 21.

According to a statement issued by the Tourism Development Department, here, the four training sessions were conducted by the Tourism Development Department in collaboration with the Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

The training was based on the Taman Peranginan Taman Peranginan Tasek Lama, which is an increasingly popular tourist destination, especially for bird watchers and nature lovers.

Taman Peranginan Tasek Lama is one of the oldest recognized parks in the country with artificial lakes and waterfalls that offer a calm and beautiful environment, perfect for relaxing and walking while enjoying nature.

The training session is one of the initiatives of the Tourism Development Department and the Forestry Department specifically for tourist guides so that they can gain knowledge and improve their skills and knowledge in providing better quality driving services to visitors.

The training under the leadership of the Forestry Department aims to provide in-depth information on tree species, flora and fauna, plants and wildlife as well as landmarks for each identified site found in Taman Peranginan Lama Tasek Lama.

One of the training participants, Mohammad Ajrul bin Haji Mail explained that the training was a very positive experience for him when he was given an explanation about the names of plants and trees in terms of local names, scientific names, English and also the uses of plants concerning for example in medicine and nutrition.

“We really appreciate the efforts of the Department to provide training like this,” Mohammad Ajrul added.

The Department of Tourism Development is strongly committed to improving the quality of tourism services in Brunei Darussalam. Through the training program, it is hoped that tour guides will be able to provide more professional and quality driving services to visitors and further showcase the beauty of Brunei to tourists.
