WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — AAA and its forecast partner INRIX say the worst times to drive for Thanksgiving are Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. For travelers returning home, Sunday afternoon and most of the day on Monday will be particularly crowded on the highways. On Thanksgiving, roads will be the least congested.
AAA projects a record 71.7 million people will travel by car, and 5.85 million people will fly domestically. Gas prices are lower this year than last.
Kansas’ average gas price is currently $2.70, 24 cents lower than one year ago and fifth lowest in the nation.
