Medina County District Library hosts festive holiday programs for the whole family

MEDINA, Ohio — The Medina County District Library has planned dozens of fun holiday events for the family, beginning Dec. 1 and continuing all the way through New Year’s Day.

Check them out below:

Winter Story Walk: The Story Walk is a partnership between the library system and the Medina County Park District, at Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park, 4985 Windfall Rd. in Medina, and the Medina City Schools, at Northrop Elementary School, 950 E. Reagan Parkway in Medina.

The Story Walk promotes literacy, physical activity and spending time together as a family.

Eighteen story boards are placed alongside a level, paved and accessible trail. The book featured after Dec. 1 is “Snow” by Sam Usher.

Stop by for Letters to Santa, Reindeer Food & Elf on the Shelf: Dec. 2-23, all library locations.

Snuggle Up & Read: Dec. 2-30, all branches. Create a cozy evening for children in need by donating new books and pajamas at any location.

Volunteers will package PJs with a book, then distribute to Medina County children.

Visit with Santa: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2, Medina Library. All ages.

Hear a story, make a wintry craft and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. No registration required.

Snow Much Fun! 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, Buckeye Library. All ages.

The Buckeye High School choir will entertain you while you visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy indoor snow activities for families, too.

Pinecone Holiday Trees: 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 5, Seville Library. All ages.

Paint and decorate a pinecone to create a festive mini tree. Register at mcdl.info/Events.

Lodi Library’s Winter Wonderland: 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7, Lodi Village Square. All ages.

Kick off your holiday season with a visit from Santa, reindeer from Spring Mist Farms, horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, crafts and treats.

Held in conjunction with the Village of Lodi, the Lodi Harrisville Historical Society and the Lodi Railroad Museum.

All Aboard the Polar Express! 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10 or 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Brunswick Library. And 6 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Medina Library. All ages.

Settle in with your pajamas and a cup of cocoa as we read this classic holiday book. Register at mcdl.info/Events.

Adapted Santa: 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 17, Brunswick Library. All ages.

This is a Santa visit for families with special needs and sensory/autism integration challenges. Register at mcdl.info/Events.

Build a Gingerbread House: 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 17, Medina Library. Ages 5 and older.

Bring a bag of candy to share and the library will provide the rest. Register at mcdl.info/Events.

Noon Year’s Eve Storytime: 11:30 a.m. Dec. 28, Medina Library. All ages.

Listen to stories and songs and celebrate the “noon” year with a festive balloon drop! No registration required.
