26 China-Singapore investment projects signed

NANJING, NOV 26 – A total of 26 investment cooperation projects between China and Singapore were signed yesterday at one of the leading industrial parks in China, in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, East China.

The projects cover sectors such as biopharmaceuticals, collaborative innovation, and the digital economy, sealed during the China-Singapore Investment Forum held in Suzhou Industrial Park, which is the first cooperation project between the Chinese and Singaporean governments.

Among the projects are the China-Singapore Sustainable Real Estate Joint Innovation Workshop and the establishment of new headquarters and operations centers by Chinese companies in Singapore.

Established in 1994 and housing more than 400 Singapore companies, the Suzhou Industrial Park has seen the development of closer cooperation between the two parties.

China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC), in a recent statement, emphasized support for the Suzhou Industrial Park in efforts to promote reform, open up key areas, and enhance its ability to obtain global resources.

The MOC said China will support the industrial park in expanding digital economy cooperation with Singapore, including pilot projects related to cross-border data flow and measures to facilitate business and trade, as well as work with Singaporean institutions to build a joint China-Singapore medical center. – Xinhua
