Hays chamber changes health insurance provider for local businesses

HAYS, Kan. (KSNW) — The Chamber in Hays has a new provider for its level-funded health insurance plans.

Chamber Solutions will replace the current Chamber Blue program which ends Dec. 31 due to the Department of Justice ruling on Non-discrimination in Health Programs and Activities. The new program is throug Aetna and managed by Gallagher Benefit Services.

The chamber says the plans can be tailored to each small business. Only businesses with 2-100 employees qualify. LLCs with no employees are not eligible.

Businesses can choose from eight plan designs, offering up to four plans for their employees. Members also receive a 2% discount on monthly premiums, which isn’t offered under normal Aetna health plans.

The enrollment period is also open year-round so businesses are able to join at any time. The plans would include access to Aetna’s Choice POSII Open Access network, two statewide local networks, and other benefits.

The plan will only be available for businesses that are members of the Chamber in Hays. According to the chamber, over 500 businesses are currently members.
