At 4 p.m. Nov. 3, police were called to Target, 14070 Cedar Road, where three girls fled after stealing merchandise.

The other two girls, 14, of South Euclid, and 15, of East Cleveland, were returned to the UHPD station and then turned over to family members.

The merchandise, totaling $119.16, was recovered and returned to the store. The girls face theft charges in juvenile court.

Warrant arrest: Cedar Road

At 12:35 a.m. Oct. 28, an officer stopped a car for a marked lanes violation and because the driver had a suspended license.

It was then learned that the driver, a Cleveland Heights man, 42, was wanted by Cleveland Heights police on a felony warrant.

During the traffic stop, drugs were found in the man’s car. The drugs are being tested and further charges may be forthcoming.

Burglary: East Scarborough Road

At 9 a.m. Oct. 29, police were called to a residence in the 3600 block of East Scarborough Road where it was reported that two Jeep vehicles, a 2022 Cherokee and a 2022 Compass, were stolen from the driveway. Keys had been left inside the Jeeps.

Police also learned that, as the thieves were stealing the vehicles, they apparently entered the house, too. There were no signs of forced entry and it appeared as if nothing was stolen.

Police are investigating.

Domestic violence: Ashurst Road

At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29, police were dispatched to a home in the 2200 block of Ashurst Road. Dispatch had received a 911 hang-up call from the address during which a woman could be heard asking for police response.

While on their way, officers saw a 48-year-old woman on Silsby Road, near Edgerton Road, who was involved in the matter.

Other officers went to the home and found there a Bedford man, 49. After investigation, police arrested the man for domestic violence.

The woman told police the man dragged her down two flights of stairs and choked her.

EMS cared for the woman, but she did not wish to be taken to a hospital.

At 8:10 p.m. Oct. 29, police were called to a temple located in the 2300 block of South Green Road where it was reported that someone drove a white Cadillac SUV into the parking lot, and made offensive hand gestures towards onlookers while speaking to them in a foreign language.

The SUV then departed, traveling south on South Green Road. Police were unable to find the vehicle.

Fleeing and eluding: Warrensville Center Road

At 10:40 p.m. Nov. 2, officers observed a parking violation that was causing a traffic hazard on Warrensville Center Road. As police approached the car with overhead lights activated, the car sped off southbound.

Police pursued for only a short distance and were able to see the car’s registration.

On Nov. 4, after learning that the driver was a 23-year-old North Olmsted man, police cited him for traffic and obstruction charges.

Trespassing: Warrensville Center Road

At 10:05 p.m. Nov. 2, a resident called police to report that a party was taking place in the house next door and that one partygoer had come upon her property and urinated. The woman just wanted officers to speak with the party giver about the incident.

Police spoke to the party giver, found that the gathering was not out of hand, and let it continue.

Two days later, the woman changed her mind and sought to have the person who urinated on her property cited. She provided video for police, but the suspect could not be immediately identified.

The detective bureau is following up.
