HANOI, NOV 27 – Vietnam’s rice exports reached 8.05 million tons as of November 15, generating revenue of US$5.05 billion, according to the General Customs Department.
Data shows that the country exported 293,484 tons of rice in the first half of November alone, the Vietnam News Agency reported. VNA.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, total exports for the first ten months of this year almost reached 7.8 million tons worth US$4.86 billion, marking an increase of 10.2 percent in terms of quantity and 23.4 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last year.
The Philippines remains Vietnam’s largest market, driven by high demand and accounting for more than 45 percent of total exports.
As of the end of October, the country imported 2.91 million tons of rice from Vietnam.
Other key markets include Indonesia and Malaysia, with Malaysia recording the highest value growth among Vietnam’s top 15 export destinations, an increase of 2.3 times.
The Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines expects rice imports to continue to rise in the final months of the year, driven by increased domestic consumption and damage to the harvest due to natural disasters. – Named
