Storm Track 3 Forecast: Snow and rain wrap up, cold sunshine for Thanksgiving

We have seen a mix of rain and snow across the Sunflower State today. Some accumulations in northwest Kansas occurred on grassy surfaces, but ground temperatures were too warm for anything to stick to roadways.

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Snow and rain wrap up, cold sunshine for Thanksgiving

Cold, dry air will rush into the state this evening, driving out moisture by tonight. Skies will clear through the morning leading to a sunny but cold start to Thanksgiving.

Below-average highs will be the story for Thanksgiving. Abundant sunshine will take control with highs in the 40s.

Sunny skies linger through the beginning of the weekend when our next system will arrive early Saturday morning. Light snowfall will just clip the KSN viewing area with better chances of accumulations in northeastern Kansas.

Temperatures remain below average through the weekend with highs in the 40s through the beginning of December. Gradually we will start to warm by the middle of next week.

An above-average trend takes control through the first full weekend of the month. Temperatures climb into the mid to upper 50s across the state.
